STAUNTON -- Three members of the Staunton Choral Society have created a musical group on their own, known as the Women of Hope. Members include Jackie Eakin, of Staunton; former Stauntonian Sherrie Shoemaker, of Waynesboro; and Lilchy Huffman, of Staunton. The group is accompanied by Daniel Kirkland, a Staunton pianist.
“We’re still working to become known,” said Huffman, who competed for the 2013 Ms. Virginia Senior title at the nTelos Theatre on Friday, near Gypsy Hill Park at the old Lee High School location in Staunton.
